Safari opens with a burst of galbanum, tagetes, hyacinth, and citrus before moving into a huge floral heart of narcissus, orris root, rose, Italian jasmine, and orange blossom. The base is dry and green-tinged: vetiver, amber, sandalwood, cedar, and patchouli. Created by Dominique Ropion and launched by Ralph Lauren in 1990, it's one of the defining "big floral" fragrances of its era — evocative, dry, and distinctly unsweet.
